Join the Douglasville Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) as they host a Community Meeting on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Hunter Park (8830 Gurley Rd. Douglasville), beginning at 12 PM. The Douglasville CVB along with the Georgia Department of Economic Development encourage local community partners and residents to attend to discuss tourism related assets. It will be the goal of the Tourism Product Development Resource Team to create a master plan for Douglasville, launching an opportunity to develop existing resources while creating opportunities for new development, in the years to come. The Cultural Arts Center of Douglasville/Douglas County presents J’miah Nabawi performing, “There’s Rhythm in the Telling.”
Light up the winter nights with your own unique painted lighted bottle! In this workshop, students will paint a glass bottle with their own unique design and insert lights for a finishing touch. All supplies and materials provided. Students have option to bring their favorite acrylic paintbrushes.
Class Outline:
Part 1: Distribute and explain supplies. (15 minutes)
Students will choose from a variety of ready-to-paint, pre-drilled bottles.
Part 2: Design
Instructor will show examples of completed bottles and allow time for students to create a design. Instructors will give feedback and suggestions.
Part 3: Painting the bottle (90 minutes)
Students will paint their bottles as desired before adding a sealant.
Part 4 | Installing lights (10 minutes)
Instructor will demonstrate how to install lights. Student will install lights in their painted bottle.
Part 5: Brief discussion on how to care for bottle (5 minutes)
